HFSExplorer is a completely free, open-source utility that allows you to read Mac-formatted drives on a Windows PC. Because Windows cannot natively understand macOS file systems, this tool bridges the gap by acting as a specialized file browser. Before you begin, keep two critical limitations in mind:
Read-Only Access: You can only view and copy (extract) files from the Mac drive to your PC. You cannot write new data, edit existing files, or delete items on the Mac drive through this app.
File System Compatibility: It only works for older Mac formats: HFS, HFS+, and HFSX (often called Mac OS Extended). It does not support APFS (Apple File System), which is the standard format for modern Mac SSDs. 💻 Prerequisites
